I firmly believe that recovery – whether from substances or behaviors – is a spiritual journey. My goal is to help those seeking or struggling with recovery find that peace and recovery by pointing to the One who can truly help.
CrossRoads captures both the struggle and the hope of recovery: a crossroad represents decision – the moment someone realizes the can’t keep going the say way; it acknowledges the reality that people entering recovery are often at a turning point, a crossroad; and the deeper meeing, being on the road to the Cross, points to healing, redemption, and transformation through Jesus Christ and His Church.
Although I come from a strong Catholic perspective, I recognize that not everyone believes the same as I believe. Whatever your faith journey, I would love to walk alongside you, as a peer, and help you discover the joys of recovery from addictions. My desire is to guide you in your journey and help you grow spiritually!
We are hoping to set up a Catholic in Recovery meeting at Blessed Sacrament Church in Tallahassee for those on the journey who are open to a Catholic perspective. Recovery isn’t only about overcoming addiction to alcohol or other substances or to behaviors. It is about living with the freedom and joy that God desires for His beloved children. The solution that CIR offers integrates three rings: fellowship, freedom, and faith. While these three rings are separate and distinct from each other, they overlap to provide a holistic solution. Please continue to check back about when we are getting started.
